Weller Campground

Overview

Weller Campground may not be the first campground you look to among the several campgrounds on Highway 82 between Aspen and Independence Pass, but it remains a convenient option when nearby campgrounds fill up. The largest of the area's campgrounds, and the closest to Aspen, is Difficult Campground, and a few miles further up is the much smaller Weller Campground. Weller's sites are all first-come-first-served, and one of its uses is as an overflow campground when Difficult is full. Being located closer to several trailheads and the magnificent Independence Pass, however, make Weller Campground a destination in its own right.
